SOKRATHERM produces compact CHP units of 50-500 kW electric power and has over 35 years of experience in combined heat and power generation. Our units can be powered by natural gas, sewage gas or biogas. The key characteristics of our cogeneration units are 1) compact design for low installation cost, 2) excellent efficiency rates of up to 92% and 3) automatic, highly reliable and sound isolated operation. in short: compact, efficient, reliable. Around 1500 SOKRATHERM compact CHP units have been delivered worldwide. Typical application objects are hospitals, industrial sites, swimming pools, nursing homes, hotels, district heating, jails, purification plants and biogas plants. Many have been awarded e.g. by the German energy agency dena (www.dena.de) or the German Cogeneration association B.KWK. Our customer spectrum ranges from local heating installators and hotels (e.g. Marriott) to global players like Siemens, Johnson & Johnson, M.A.N. Truck & Bus and SMA Solar Technology.

Energiebunker Hamburg-Wilhelmsburg (1 x GG 530 + 1 x GG 237)
After six decades of decay, a World War II bunker in Hamburg-Wilhelmsburg has been transformed into a renewable energy plant. While preserving its moumental character, the "Energiebunker" has been equipped with many renewable power and heat generators (e.g. solar collectors and photovoltaics) and a huge 2.000 m³ buffer storage. A core component to generate renewable heat and power is our CHP plant with 1 x GG 530 installed in 2013 and 1 x GG 237 installed in 2016. Together they produce 1058 kW heat and 771 kW power with over 90 % total efficiency. Besides the production and delivery of the CHP unit, SOKRATHERM has performed all the installation works (e.g. exhaust pipes). The plant operated by the municipal power company HAMBURG ENERGIE supplies the surrounding buildings with heat and feeds the electricity into the mains. The CHP project has been awarded with the first DEUTSCHER TGA AWARD during the Berliner Energietage 2014. Feel free to contact us for further references.

Gräflicher Park Hotel & Spa Bad Driburg (2 x GG 237, 1 x GG 140)
In 2011, the BOO (Build-Own-Operate) company GASAG Contracting has renewed the heat and power supply of the Gräflicher Park Hotel & Spa in Bad Driburg. This resort run by Count von Oeynhausen-Sierstorpff provides first class accomodation and an extensive park. The heart of the newed heating center forms the CHP plant. Due to the good experiences with the two GG 237 CHP units installed in 2011, it was enlarged with another GG 140 unit in 2013. The CHP plant's total power is now 620 kW electric and 960 kW thermal power. The total efficiency of the plant exceeds 90 %. Feel free to contact us for further references.
