The Geophysica GmbH provides planning and engineering services for geothermal installations. We work as an independent consulting company and search for the most optimized solution for ground based heating and cooling. Our services span from a first feasibility check to preliminary planning and final design of the geothermal installation. We offer concepts to evaluate and validate the local subsurface conditions and to ensure the efficiency of the system by intelligent monitoring systems. We check the project demands for standard solutions suitability, but also take account of innovations such as large storage tubes, new probe designs, unconventional drilling concepts (horizontal, radial) and of the usage of thermo-active construction parts (energy piles, sheet piles, steel pilings and bottom plates). Our personal is well trained in professional software for design and dimension of ground heat exchanger fields and we steadily improve our own software packages for numerical simulation of heat and flow transport processes within and in the surrounding of ground heat exchangers. Here, recent developments focus on software tools for predicting the performance of planar thermo-active construction parts such as steel pilings and sealing elements for buildings. Long standing co-operations with RWTH Aachen University institutes ( Geothermal Energy Department and the Institute for Geotechnical Engineering) ensures enduring scientific support and a permanent transfer of know-how.
