Cold Store - film archive at Südwestrundfunk (SWR) television station

The treasures of the SWR television station rest well protected in this store in the Swabian wine town of Endersbach. Thousands of television productions from the last few decades are stored at a constant temperature of 16 °C and wait for a comeback. Günther GmbH from Plüderhausen, near Stuttgart, the refrigeration plant building company, installed the appropriate technology to air condition the space. The plant is a 100% redundant plant with ceiling evaporators, external air cooled condensers and oil separators. The heart of the plant consists of two HGX34P/380-4S compressors which are frequency controlled for highest efficiency by a Bock EFC system. A crucial factor in Jörg Günthers decision to use this compressor in conjunction with the EFC system was the reliability of Bock compressors coupled with the exceptionally simple operation of the EFC system.

Vapiano AG with headquarters in Bonn has now 23 Lifestyle Restaurants in Europe and the USA. It is obvious that such a principle is bound to involve a number of cold rooms. This is the case for example in the Stuttgart Vapiano Restaurant with a total of 26 cold stores where the refrigeration has to be covered. Energy efficient coverage of the fluctuating demand of this large number of cold stores was resolved by Günther GmbH, contractor responsible for installation of the refrigeration plant, by using a Bock duplex compressor DHG22P with an EFC system. "EFC systems are particularly suited to this sort of fluctuating refrigeration demand" says Jörg Günther, Managing Director of the Company. He is reckoning on Vapiano making substantial savings by using the EFC system in comparison to conventional performances.
