Chemical Plant Heater
For the plant to produce PET-plastic materials, company Uhde Inventa Fischer GmbH ordered a heater with a capacity of about 15 megawatt. The delivery includes a gas fired heater (type FH-T 17.000 vertical) for heating of a plant in the chemical industry to produce plastic (PET). The scope of supply contains a gas fired boiler, firing system, chimney and a waste heat recovery unit to preheat the combustion air. With this efficiency-enhancing conception the efficiency of the heater is above 90 %. The plant is located in the North of England, purchaser is the Berlin company Uhde Inventa Fischer GmbH, a Thyssen-Krupp subsidiary. The boiler supplied by heat 11 is about 16 m high, has a diameter of approx. 3,50 m and disposes of a heating capacity of 15.000 kilowatt. With this capacity, more than 700 single family houses could be supplied with heating. The design of the entire plant is as per SIL 3 (Safety Integrity Level 3) - one of the highest safety standards in mechanical engineering. Safety equipment and components e.g. have to be present at least three times. For further questions please mail to contact@heat11.com Another special feature of the plant lies in the entire redundant design of the burner plant. So all fuel lines, blowers and control fittings are doubled and therefore allow a so-called “on-the-fly-change” between the parts of the plant. Heater with waste heat recovery units are part of the heat 11 range of products to increase the energy efficiency which also includes plants for solar thermal power plants as well as the generation and treatment of heat, electricity and gas from biomass.
Process plant fired with wood and biogas
heat 11 plans, manufactures and assembles a process plant fired with wood and biogas for the composting plant Buetzberg of the city of Hamburg. With the plant, more than 12.000 tons of green waste are to be burned CO2 neutrally and used to generate process heat for the biogas plant. The completion is still scheduled for 2012. Since the mid-1990‘s, compost has been generated at the composting plant Buetzberg. In addition to this recycling, the biological waste is converted into energy also in the future. For this, the Stadtreinigung expands its composting plant. By dry fermentation, biogas will be generated that is made available to the climate-conscious citizen of Hamburg and to the own fleet of Stadtreinigung. heat 11 received the order to deliver the process heat plant turn-key. The plant mainly consists of one waste heat boiler fired with biomass of a solid fuel incineration plant (Bioflamm) with automatic fuel supply (including deashing, multi-cyclone dust separator and electrostatic filter) as well as one boiler fired with biogas. Secondary and control loops for the heating of separate process zones of the plant as well as circulating pumps and containers with fully-automatic control system and remote maintenance complete the plant. The boilers dispose of a heat capacity of 850 kW each. The heat recovered from the combustion of the green waste is provided by a thermo oil intermediate loop for the gas processing of the biogas plant. Heaters for Concentrated Solar Power Plant
heat 11 solar receives a large order from the field of regenerative power plant technology: For the 50 MW solar power plant “Extresol 3” in Spain the construction company ACS Cobra ordered three heaters with a capacity of 15 megawatt (MW) each. The heaters are among the key components in the heat transfer system of the solar thermal power plant complex „Extresol“, the third section is currently under construction in Spain. After completion of the third section the power plant will feed 150 MW of electrical power into the Spanish power supply network, the sections 1 and 2 are already connected to the network. „heat 11 solar is one of the leading suppliers of thermo oil heaters in solar thermal power plants,” said Stephan Kraus, general manager of heat 11 solar, “and the leading experts for the heat transfer required in these power plants do research and work here. The new order and many requests show once more that we are in the position together with our partners already today to implement climate friendly, reliable and economical solutions to cover the world’s growing energy demand.” The plants of heat 11 solar perform an important task within the power plant. “Our system is used, among other things, for heating the heat transfer circuit and for controlled start-up of the power plant,” explains Dr. Dietmar Hunold, technical manager of heat 11 solar, the function of the plant. heat 11 solar will deliver three heaters of the type FH to Southern Spain. The plants have a capacity of 15 MW each, are about 14 m long and 3,5 mm in diameter. The scope of supply includes boilers, burners, chimneys and the required control systems. The contract with ACS contains the supply but also the supervision of the construction and installation of all three plants. In addition, a comprehensive spare parts package is part of the order. The delivery of the plant components is scheduled to begin in August 2011. The importance of solar thermal power plants as important element of the renewable energies strongly increases further and Spain is a pioneer in this market. Currently about 20 power plants are completed in Spain, 30 are under construction or in planning. After their connection to the electricity grid, the plant Extresol will be one of the largest solar thermal power plant complex in the world with a collector area of about 1.500.000 m2 and a capacity of 150 MW. The solar power plants have a thermal molten salt storage which allows a nearly 24-hour operation during the summer months. According to the company, the market for solar thermal power plants at present grows rapidly and would offer good business opportunities to the Bielefeld plant specialist: “After the terrible reactor accident in Japan, many countries think about phasing out of nuclear energy,” said Kraus and Hunold. In many places, the expansion of solar thermal power plants is the first alternative to nuclear energy since they can produce electricity at full capacity even on cloudy days or at night by energy storage – unlike, for example, the photovoltaic. And that this electricity is more expensive than the electricity generated by nuclear power is then at least doubtful if, according to a recent Greenpeace study, also the indirect costs of electricity generation are involved.
Gas Heating Plant in Mexico
For a 300 MW block heat and power plant of the state-owned Mexican oil company PEMEX heat 11 develops and constructs a gas heating system. After completion the new power plant will be able to deliver 300 MW of electricity and up to 800 tons/hr. of hot steam for the PEMEX complex for gas treatment in Tabasco, Mexico. Furthermore the plant will feed excessive electrical energy into the Mexican power grid. heat 11 takes over the engineering as well as the production, the construction site monitoring and the commissioning for the heating plant of the complex for gas treatment. "Our system serves for heating and drying of the gas production. This is absolutely essential for the further processing of the gas", explains sales director Juan Cuestas the function of the plant. The run for this order was decided very quickly: Two months only passed from the first inquiry to the placing of order. Decisive for the placing were promptness with the creation of the solution as well as the experience and solution competence of the heat 11 engineers. For further details: contact@heat11.com.
