Since its establishment in 1980, the mission at Menerga has been to develop forward-thinking technologies. The results speak for themselves: today, we are the innovation leader for energy-efficient climate-control systems, specialising in the development, manufacture and sale of multi-functional ventilation and air-conditioning equipment. Air conditioning and ventilation are our passion. And this is a topic that is just as emotional as it is technical. Our top priority is comfort. Comfort for people working in spaces dependably air-conditioned using our technology, for clients who delight each month in the economical running costs, and for us, because our innovative technology is successful. Our vision is to continue to write this success story, and to continue to perfect the technology of air conditioning in all its facets. Equipment bearing our brand is installed especially in places where the demands for air conditioning technology are high. These spaces include historic buildings along with low-energy structures, office and commercial buildings, shopping centres, public buildings such as schools, clinics, hotels, museums or theatres, industrial production plants, and indoor swimming pools both public and private. The range of applications for efficient cooling and heating technology extends far beyond public and private buildings with their seasonal requirements. Within industry, there are many production processes that depend on a stable temperature and constant climate control. Here too, Menerga is developing energy-efficient solutions. In designing systems and technologies, the company has consistently aimed for energy efficiency coupled with the responsible use of resources and the lowest possible level of CO2 emissions. To this end, Menerga has developed a range of different cooling and air-conditioning processes, as well as special control and regulating technology for integration into air-conditioning systems. Since 1985, a focus has been adiabatic cooling, a method that works without electricity. Here, warm air from outside is cooled by evaporation without the need for additional, electrical refrigeration. Heat recovery systems and, since 1994, intelligent, integrated ventilation systems, together with coordinated control and regulating technology that can now even be operated via the internet, have all made a significant contribution to the efficiency of air-conditioning systems in buildings. Electricity bills are lower and, with integrated heat recovery, additional boilers become superfluous, which all leads to significant reductions in CO2 emissions. One further process in the Menerga portfolio is thermodynamic air conditioning or absorption. Developed in 2003, this technique uses heat as the energy source to power the air conditioning. In other words, heat for cooling: not quite the paradox that it might appear to be. Air conditioning through absorption is a two-stage process involving dehumidification of the air followed by cooling. For the dehumidification process, warm air from outside is piped through a water-absorbent substance. This highly concentrated salt solution becomes more dilute as it absorbs water from the air. Next, the air goes through a heat exchanger, where it is pre-cooled by air discharged from the inside of the building, and then through an evaporative cooler. The brine is regenerated by evaporation for re-use. Various heat sources can be employed: a solar thermal system, a district heating network, or residual heat from a combined heat and power station (CHP) or from industrial processes. Thus, heat can be stored without loss in a fluid medium almost indefinitely and can be used specifically where there is no constant heat supply, for example when a solar thermal installation fails to produce sufficient heat through lack of sunshine. The Menerga team share their customers forward-looking approach and aim to offer solutions that save on running costs and reduce energy bills over the long term. Their philosophy is summed up in the company slogan: One successful contract leads to another. In other words, we see our customers as partners in a long-term business relationship. Keeping an open mind and always paying attention to detail, a virtue that is often neglected although it makes life more pleasant, is clearly the perfect recipe for a perfect indoor climate.
